SirSync automatically synchronizes media as part of your content deployments, eliminating the need to manually copy images or update media references between websites. Whether you’re deploying a page, post, product, or individual media files, SirSync intelligently matches existing media whenever possible to avoid creating duplicates.
Automatic Media Synchronization
When you push supported content, SirSync automatically detects any associated media and transfers it to the connected website if needed.
This includes media referenced by:
- Featured Images
- Content images
- WooCommerce product galleries
- Downloadable product files
- Builder content (Elementor, SiteOrigin, etc.)
- Supported custom fields
If the media already exists on the destination website, SirSync reuses the existing file instead of creating a duplicate whenever possible.
Deploying Individual Media
Media files can also be deployed independently without pushing an entire page or post.
From the Media Library
Open any media item and click Push to Remote to synchronize that individual file with the connected website.
This is useful when:
- Preparing images before creating content
- Updating shared assets
- Synchronizing downloadable files
- Deploying replacement images
Bulk Media Deployments
SirSync also supports bulk media synchronization.
From the Media Library list view:
- Select one or more media files.
- Choose Push Selected to Remote.
- Confirm the deployment.
This allows large batches of media to be synchronized in a single operation.
Image Metadata
When pushing media directly from the Media Library, SirSync asks whether image metadata should also be synchronized.
Push image metadata too?
Yes
Replaces the destination image metadata with the metadata from the current website. This includes updates to titles, captions, descriptions, alt text, and intentionally cleared values.
No
Transfers the media file while leaving the existing metadata on the destination website unchanged.
Cancel
Cancels the deployment without making any changes.
This gives you full control when the destination website has customized image information that you want to preserve.
Media During Content Deployments
When media is synchronized as part of a page, post, or product deployment, SirSync takes a more conservative approach to metadata synchronization.
To help prevent accidental data loss, SirSync will synchronize available metadata while preserving existing metadata on the destination website when the corresponding field is empty on the source website.
For example:
- If the source image contains Alt Text, it will be synchronized.
- If the source image has an empty Alt Text field but the destination already contains Alt Text, SirSync preserves the existing value instead of removing it.
This behavior helps ensure accessibility and SEO metadata aren’t unintentionally erased during routine content deployments.
