Menus

SirSync synchronizes the selected menu and its configuration. If the menu has not been synchronized before, SirSync creates it on the receiving website. If a linked version already exists, SirSync updates it with the latest menu items, order, hierarchy, and supported settings.

To synchronize a menu:

1. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
2. Select the menu you want to synchronize.
3. Save any changes you have made to the menu.
4. Click Push Menu to Remote to send the menu to the connected website, or click Pull Menu from Remote to bring the corresponding menu to the current website.

Always confirm that you are editing the correct menu before choosing an action. Synchronization begins as soon as you click the button.

How Menu Links Are Handled

Synchronizing a menu does not synchronize the pages, posts, products, or other content linked from its menu items. SirSync only synchronizes the menu itself.

When linked content has already been synchronized, SirSync remaps the menu item to the corresponding content on the receiving website. This ensures that the menu uses the receiving website’s URL instead of linking back to the original website.

If the linked content does not exist on the receiving website or has not been synchronized through SirSync, the menu item is still created, but its URL is replaced with #. Synchronize the missing content first, then synchronize the menu again to restore the correct link.

This prevents menu synchronization from automatically triggering additional content deployments. You remain in control of exactly which pages, posts, products, and other content are synchronized between your websites.
